F rom April 28 to May 16, Diane Rothenberg and I will again be in New York City, for another round of activities at this year’s People’s Poetry Gathering (May 5-7) and for a chance to visit with old & new friends and to spend time in old & new neighborhoods of our native city. Among the several events at People’s Poetry are the following:

Saturday, May 6, 1:00 - 2:15, reading with Cecilia Vicuña, Anselm Berrigan, & others: “The New York Poem,” at City University of New York Graduate Center, 365 Fifth Avenue, Breakout Room 2.

Saturday, May 6, 3:30-4:45, performing & talking on “Distant Languages, Real and Imagined,” with Pierre Joris, at City University of New York, Breakout Room 5.

Sunday, May 7, 2:00-3:30, Panel on “Poetry Across Languages,” at Bowery Poetry Club, 308 Bowery at Bleecker.

Also, on Saturday, May 6, 7:00 p.m., reading in collaboration with collages by Nancy Tobin, Spoken Word and Visual Arts Series, Center for Performing Arts, DeBaun Auditorium, Edwin A. Stevens Hall, 5th & Hudson Sts., Hoboken, N.J.
