Tazio Secchiaroli, 'Fellini, set Casanova 70, Roma 1970, SEC140SVU, Vintage gelatin silver print, cm. 29,7 x 19,4, Signed and noted by the artist.
He was born in 1925 and he soon became the most popular paparazzo: he took pictures of all the vips of that time. At the beginning of his career in Rome he started taking pictures of U.S. soldiers and foreign turists for little money. Since 1952 he began to collaborate with the photographic agency V.E.D.O. and it’s there that he met Adolfo Porry-Pastorel, his master. Pastorel taught him the tricks of photography: to take snapshots in a fast and determinated way. In little time he became one of the most famous photographers of via Veneto in Rome or better the most important Italian “shooter”. Later Secchiaroli met Federico Fellini and since then he started to take photographs of all the episodes from the set La dolce vita. He became friend of Marcello Mastroianni and then official photographer of the actress Sophia Loren, beside these, the vips captured by his camera are really numerous. He worked as a reporter on the set until 1983 when he felt that his vital charge was vanishing. He died in 1998.
