Born in Chicago in 1925, Mariana Yampolsky found her true home in Mexico in 1944, drawn by an environment that nurtured social activism through art. Her photographs are layered visual poems depicting a humanistic point of view in a very human landscape. Buildings and flora seem to arrange themselves in elegant patterns before her camera, and people and animals radiate a strength of character.
