The saguaro is one of over 200 cactus «portraits» I've made over the last
20 years. The initial series was called «Desert Citizens» in reference to
Native American beliefs that saguaros are the souls of lost ancestors. The
work was published in 2007 in my new book called (simply) Saguaros, Radius
Press.
